2024 TRASH INFORMATION

Mount Joy Borough has contracted with Waste Industries of Pennsylvania, LLC dba GFI Environmental to provide collection services.  Trash will be collected on three (3) different days.  Your day will depend on where you live in Borough.  If you are unsure of what day is your collection day, please contact the Borough Office at (717) 653-2300.
The collection can begin as early as 4:30 AM on your assigned collection day.  Customers may place their trash/recycle containers at your collection site no earlier than 5:00 PM the night before collection.  Please do not wait until the morning of your scheduled collection day to place refuse/recycling at the collection site. This will most likely result in a late put out and will not get collected until the following week, and will require the purchase of an extra tag.  If your trash is not collected, please leave it at your collection site and call the Borough Office before 11:00 AM the next day so we can make arrangements to have the items collected.

NOTE:  If your collection day falls on a holiday, your trash day will be delayed one day.  The holidays that will affect the collection schedule will be:

2024

New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1, 2024 – Delay Monday through Wednesday.  Trash will be collected Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday that week.

Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2024 – Delay Monday through Wednesday.  Trash will be collected Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday that week.

Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2024 – Delay Monday through Wednesday.  Trash will be collected Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday that week.
